ERP Security Done Right, The First Time
Importance of Building Strong Security Controls During Your ERP Implementation
Presenters:
- Frank Vukovits, Principal Evangelist, Fastpath
- Faraz Lalani, ERP Advisory Practice Lead, SOAProjects
To put it simply, business software implementation projects are hard. Specifically, when implementing a new Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) application for your business, it’s likely the level of complexity involved with this type of implementation project will result in running overtime and budget. With time and budget constraints looming, initial functionality requirements can be deprioritized to handle later in ‘phase II’ of the implementation project. However, security should not be one of the requirements left for phase II or any later stage of an ERP implementation.
In this webinar, we will explore why setting up security correctly during the first phase of your ERP implementation is paramount to your company’s long term security posture and will protect against internal and external security threats to your business. We will use an ERP implementation as an example to illustrate why getting security right the first time saves time, money, frustrations, and most importantly, best supports the concept of true enterprise security.
Key Learnings:
- Understand why it saves time and resources to thoroughly define security during the implementation of your ERP software, and not after go-live.
- Discover best practice approaches for security buy-in during implementations and how these practices can be tested during the implementation.
- Understand just like the business software project, ownership of security is a company-wide initiative, and not just an IT responsibility.
